There is a lot of satisfaction knowing that someone is finding joy and beauty in the pieces I make. I put my nurturing energy into the clay as I form these pieces and exude my playful creative energy into the glaze designs. You not only get a one of a kind piece, but also a little piece of me, too.

After a year and a half of pottery, my cupboards were bursting with ceramic mugs and vases. I had officially made everything and more than I needed for myself! When I posted on my personal Instagram story asking if anyone would like me to make them something, I only expected a few people to ask for a mug or two. The dozens of messages that I received in response baffled me! In need of a platform to communicate with people who had placed orders, I created an Instagram account solely for my ceramics, and thus Swerve Ceramics was born.
The magic happens in Morning Ceramics Studio, where I go almost every day to create pieces that I hope will give as much joy to someone as it gives me to create it. I channel happiness and gratitude into every piece I make, thrilled to harness my creativity into a tangible thing. Every broken nail, sore back muscle, and clay-covered piece of clothing is worth it to know that I get to put a little bit of myself into my work and into your life.
I have come a long way since 2019, starting out as a beginner student, making pottery in Jackson Hole, WY, and then journeying back to Portland, Oregon. As both a cathartic outlet and a creative expression, my love for ceramics has only grown deeper.
